MyScale - My attempt to laugh through a pandemic

The coronavirus lockdown started in March, 2020, in Minneapolis. Shortly thereafter, our scale failed. At first I thought, "Great. Stuff just keeps breaking". But then I thought, "MAYBE that's a good thing, considering my lack of activity and the lure of chocolate chip cookies.

So I decided to make an informercial to promote MyScale! It's pretty self-explanatory, so I'll let the video do the talking.

P.S. We eventually got a new scale. Not a good idea.

"The Man With the Golden Voice" (me!) on NBC Nightly News.
Brian Williams hasn't faired so well these days. But "the man with the golden voice" is still kickin'! Take a look at me on NBC Nightly News.

"On a Boat": My week on a live aboard catamaran in the British Virgin Islands.

Thanks to friends Pat and Stephanie (seen admiring each other in this picture), I was able to spend a week aboard a swank cruising catamaran, sailing the BVI. The forehead at the bottom right belongs to Jim Johnson who, along with wife, Jill, made this trip possible for all of us. Jim, incidentally, is also a singer/songwriter. I used his original song, "On a Boat" to edit the footage for this trip. As a result, the video has been viewed over 160,000 times on YouTube. It's so popular, you now have to watch part of an ad just to see it. (Hey, aren't I supposed to be getting paid for that?)

Campfire USA Centennial

Campfire USA in Minnesota celebrated it's 100th anniversary recently, so we went out to Camp Tanadoona in Minnetonka to interview campers, young and old, including Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar, who was in the Campfire program as a girl. The Senator gives her thoughts at :47 and returns at 3:05. Meet Marnie Wells, the CEO, at 1:01. And at 1:58, Fox 9 Anchor Tim Blotz and his daughter, Emerson, tells us why Campfire and Tanadoona (or as the kids call it, Can o' Tuna) is so important to her.
